The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 on August 31 to overrule a lower court's halt on above-ground construction of the White House ballroom. The project, approved by Donald Trump, is valued at $400 million.
A historic preservation group filed the lawsuit that brought the dispute to the courts, the Guardian reported. A second ruling on the case followed within two weeks of the August decision, the New York Times noted.
