Nevada Hawk Fire Burns 10,500 Acres, Forces Evacuations

The human-caused Hawk Fire began Saturday in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest near the California state line. The Guardian US said the flames have scorched more than 10,500 acres and reached the perimeter of the University of Nevada campus.

PBS NewsHour said roughly 20 square miles lie within the burned area. Nearly 14,000 residences have been ordered evacuated, the Guardian US said.
