The trial of Lindsay Clancy opens August 17. Family members testified about her mental health in the months before the killings. Her mother, Paula Musgrove, said Clancy's medications were harming her. Former mother-in-law Susan Clancy and a sister also testified.
Clancy suffered from insomnia, anxiety, paranoia, and suicidal thoughts. She feared dependence on her prescriptions and expressed thoughts of harming her children.
Meghan Cliffel experienced a psychosis episode in New York City in December 2015. She became convinced a cult was plotting to kill her and her daughters. She believed television voices were speaking directly to her.
