Coroner Recommends Mandatory Driver Fitness Reporting After Adelaide Crash

Tristan Mourant drove the vehicle that struck a van carrying Sohaila Mohammadi on Main North Road at Elizabeth, Adelaide. Mohammadi died Jan. 21, 2022, at age 47.
ABC Australia reported that three physicians previously advised Mourant was unfit to drive. He has been diagnosed with bilateral retinal dystrophy. Medical professionals did not notify the Register of Motor Vehicles regarding the condition.
A coroner has recommended a mandatory reporting obligation to the registrar concerning driver fitness.
